However, the pursuit to
measure the solar magnetic field is far from complete, despite the Sun`s
proximity and perceived brightness. Our inferences of the magnetic field
of the Sun are marred with instrumental, numerical, and theoretical
issues, relatable to the challenges of inferring magnetic fields across
the Universe from remote sensing data. In this talk I will provide a
brief overview of the field and highlight some of my own work that
addresses these outstanding challenges. In particular, I will discuss
two ongoing projects: i) using the unsaturated Hanle effect in the He I
1083 line to estimate the magnetic field orientation in prominence
material in ICMEs; 2) Using Physics Informed Neural Networks for
improving spectropolarimetric inversions and building the next
generation spectropolarimetric inversion codes. Both projects aim to
advance our understanding and measurement of the solar magnetic field by
utilizing novel approaches and physical regimes of solar observations.

Сбирка на Семинара на Института по Астрономия ще се проведе на 23 Април, 2025 г.
