{"id":322,"date":"1970-01-06T09:54:54","date_gmt":"1970-01-06T07:54:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/195.96.236.171\/ratio\/?page_id=322"},"modified":"1970-01-06T10:02:01","modified_gmt":"1970-01-06T08:02:01","slug":"rules","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/195.96.236.171\/ratio\/?page_id=322","title":{"rendered":"Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<strong>Rules\nfor Access to the RACIO Scientific Infrastructure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap wp-block-paragraph\">\nAccess\nto observing time is made by submitting an application and taking a\ndecision by the Time\nAllocation Committee elected\nby the Scientific Council of IA and NAO. Fully guided by the\nprinciples of scientific policy, the Committee\ntakes its decisions on making a proposal to allocate observation time\nby consensus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n1.\nProposals shall be drawn up for six-month calendar periods and\nsubmitted for examination and validation by the Scientific Council of\nIA and NAO. These periods are: February 1 &#8211; July 31 and 1 August 1 \u2013\nJanuary 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n2.\nThe boundaries of observing seasons between photometric and spectral\nobservations shall be determined at least 30 days before the expiry\nof the relevant filing period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n3.\nThe time limits for submission of requests for observation time are:\nMarch 20 (1 August 1 &#8211; January 31) and September 20 (February 1 \u2013\nJuly 31). In the event that these dates fall on non-working days, the\ndeadline for submitting applications expires at the end of the first\nbusiness day following them. Requests submitted after these deadlines\nwill be diverted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n4.\nRequests shall be completed exhaustively for each telescope and focus\nindividually and sent online or to the e-mail address of the\nCommittee.\nUpon expiration of the submission deadline, requests distributed by\nfocus and telescope are analyzed, summarized and evaluated by the\nmembers of the Committee,\nwho submit their proposals for discussion and decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n5.\nThe Committee\nshall have its meetings twice a year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> (a) October (for the period February 1 \u2013 July 31), with the proposal for allocating the observing time submitted for consideration and approval by the Scientific Council at its November meeting  <\/li><li> (b) in April (August 1 \u2013 January 31), with a proposal to allocate observing time submitted for consideration and approval by the Scientific Council at its May meeting<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n6.\nThe deadlines for elaboration and coordination of calendar schedules\nare:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> (a) December 15 (for the period February 1 &#8211; July 31)<\/li><li> (b) June 15 (for the period August 1 \u2013 January 31).<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rules for Access to the RACIO Scientific Infrastructure Access to observing time is made by submitting an application and taking a decision by the Time Allocation Committee elected by the Scientific Council of IA and NAO.
